Disclosure: This post is brought to you by Kellogg’s and The Motherhood, and I’ve been compensated for my time. However, all opinions are my own.
I get my kids up early for school. My brother used to make fun of me because I would get up so early for school way back in my day. I got up early because I wanted time to wake-up properly – which included having breakfast and avoid rushing out the door(okay – maybe also to feather and tease my hair and apply three cans of hairspray). So I’ve kept the tradition alive with my kids. No one walks out of this house without a proper breakfast. I want them fueled for school and not craving unhealthy snacks by 9am.
Most of the time, they choose cereal – which I love. It’s quick and easy and by adding some milk and fruit – it’s the perfect balanced meal and great way to start a long school day. (Also, I hope it helps my 10 year old with algebra because lord knows I’m failing that class!).
**Did you know that 9 out of 10 kids do not get enough fiber in their diet? That’s why Kellogg’s wants to spread the word about some of the tasty fiber-filled options – like kids’ favorite cereals, fruits and veggies – that can help get kids the fiber they need throughout the day.
**Kellogg’s knows it’s important to kick off your day with a fiber containing breakfast and offers more ready-to-eat cereals that are good source of fiber(3 grams) than any other U.S. food company. (In fact Kellogg’s Foot Loops, Apple Jacks and Mini-Wheats have between 3-6 grams of fiber per serving making them a good to excellent source of fiber that kids love).
