I see the big things captured in my baby book. First smile, first tooth, first step. First time using the potty, first day of school, first night away from home. First Summer camp, first tooth lost, braces.
My mother lovingly captured the big moments of my childhood with her scrolling and gorgeous handwriting just like I try to do here for my children.
So I was prepared for those big moments when I became a mother…just like now I’m preparing for the big talks about puberty, boys, peer pressure and driving as the teen years span ahead of me uncharted just like toddler-hood was foreign to me just 10 years ago. Those big milestones will chart the course for the softer happenings of the everyday of life.
Now, as a mother of kids ranging in age from three to ten I know it’s less about the big things and more about the little things at each age. So, I am honored to join a group of writers as we celebrate and commemorate the years of childhood – from ages one to ten over the next two months.
Each Tuesday please join us and visit another writer as they show you that age through the beauty of their voices in print.
Today – we start with ONE – Aidan Donnelley Rowley
