We’ve Found a New Favorite Toy With Pony Royale

I admit that our home is slightly overflowing with princesses, dolls, dress-up clothes, horses and ponies of all kinds, little people of many sorts, and accessories and shoes that would make Imelda Marcos proud.

We have so many lands of make-believe that it would take you a lifetime to travel to them, and if you think I’ve dressed up in a pink tutu and helped played out one of the great tragedies, love stories, operas or musicals of the ‘play pony kind’ – well you might be right.(But believe me there is no photographic evidence).

So when two Princess Ponies from Pony Royale arrived at our door a few weeks ago..well it was all bets are off for playing with anything else for nearly a week and these new additions to our home(thank goodness they aren’t real ponies with real pony poop)have become a favorite, and one of them still holds the place of honor on Esther’s bedside table each night.

We received Brooke and Lily.  Esther immediately loved Lily because she is the February birthday pony and Eloise loved Brooke as her favorite color is green, and she loved the colors of Brooke’s mane and tail.   Astrid basically would steal their ponies and run away laughing and hide them or just capture them as her own.  I cannot wait until the ponies are in stores so Astrid can have her own. Or maybe she can have four because she’s adorable.  (And if you know me at all you know the other 10 Princess Ponies will somehow find their way into our Princess Pony coral soon).

What my girls love most about the Princess Ponies is that these ponies integrate so many aspects of their favorite toys – playing with animals(my girls love horses), playing with princesses, having the ability to interchange outfits and looks as their manes, tails and fashion accessories are removable to create different looks for each pony and you can interchange with the other ponies too, you can brush their hair(um hello I admit to doing this for hours),the ponies can be personal to them as they each represent a month and birthstone, they all have a different strength that my girls can identify with and learn from, and they live in different ‘lands’ that work right into a fun game of fairy-tales and make-believe.

Okay – evidently we like everything about these ponies. I also like their size as they work perfectly with some of the smaller play dolls that we own so now the ponies have riders too!

I do highly recommended these for your kids(okay and maybe for you) when they are released. I am super picky about the toys we have as we have a smallish house with limited space for storage and playing, but these are sure winners that will be played with for years to come.

Yay! Those look adorable. Also, I learned to braid on a My Little Pony, so perhaps it’s meant to be that several of these should live in my house.

Seriously – the fact that you can exchange their manes and tails for different colors is super cool!

Oh man, those are cute. LIke Angela, some of my very best childhood memories (in relation to toys) are of My Little Ponies (I take her wherever I go….now I dare you to get that song out of your head). My daughter would *love* them too.

I hope those come someplace other than Toys R Us. We have had to part ways due to their horrendous customer service during the Calico Critters Incident of ’09.
