I haven’t done a Wednesday photo post in awhile. But I took the girls out for pictures last week.
There may have been a Dairy Queen treat as a bribe. Maybe.Okay for sure. For me.
It’s so strange this year to have a warm March and April. To have the trees blooming so early.
I look at these photos and can see how much my girls have grown this year. Same place. One year ago.
Astrid has hair. The bitchy lady was not at Dairy Queen.
Sometimes I cannot get over how beautiful my kids are. Is that weird to say?
It’s just that they are just so kind and good to the core. They wear their emotions on their sleeves and they are the best friends you will ever have.
They love and protect each other. They never fight. They do almost everything together. I could not be more proud.
I’m also glad that they know their mother is so much less than perfect. That sometimes I make mistakes, sometimes I yell, sometimes I cry, sometimes I ruin dinner, sometimes I don’t buy them that cool shirt they really want.
But I’m always the first to tell them a joke or do a silly dance or to remind them not to take things so seriously because what is life without laughter.
I also offer them coffee every morning. I know one day they will take me up on that offer.
So as we move forward another year. Or two. And I take their pictures and feed them ice cream….I just want them to know that they are perfect. In every way. Always.
(this picture took my breath away)

Oh, my dear Tracy. I love this post. That last pic takes my breath away too. And no, it’s not weird to think your children are beautiful. They are. And you’re giving them a wonderful life. Can I hire you to be my personal shopper (for children’s clothing??) I’m serious.

Beautiful pictures and the girls clothes are so cute. I love the colors. They really sing spring to me!
I would definitely have to bribe my oldest. He sees my camera, and that’s the last I’ll see of him!

I enjoyed your pictures.
As parents, during our parenting, we need to “relate” to our children. And telling jokes, and dancing is one way for the parent/child relationship to grow strong.
Your children’s nice-ness is a reflection of you. Brava!
Oh little Astrid, with her fingers tangled in her big sisters’ hair; her eyes shut breathing it in, soaking up the love…
And Esther, hugging her own knees (YES!), with her tooth gone and her eyes grinning as much as her mouth…
And Eloise, with the head-tilt and the Mona Lisa smile; wise beyond her years, a role model for the younger two.
Yes. Breath-taking.
To say the least.
It’s not weird to say they’re beautiful.
It’s true.

Oh I love your girls. Mine won’t touch the stuff. What the?
I do the same thing with my kids — just marvel at how beautiful they are, and then try to talk myself into the fact that they’re truly beautiful, instead of “beautiful in my eyes.”
But, yeah, your kids? Are very very beautiful.

Your kids are gorgeous. You crack me up.
Everyone MUST read “Letters to Lucas” great letter to Eloise! Many of us THINK those things, but YOU have placed it in writing to be remembered forever.
Sometimes I can’t get over how beautiful my daughter is either. Like, I look at her and it literally takes my breath away.
Other times, I look at her and think, “Yeah… I can see how she occasionally gets mistaken for a boy.” Hey… we all have our ugly days.
Beautiful pics, my friend. I would like a pair of Astrid’s pants and Esther’s skirt in my size, please and thank you.

I can probably set you up with those..
Also, I love you for this comment. I had such an ugly day yesterday.
If you DIDN’T say your girls are beautiful, THEN you’d be weird (because they are). I’ve enjoyed seeing your girls grow into young ladies over the years I’ve read your blog, and empathized with your joys and troubles. I hope I get that privilege for years to come.
Awww, thank you. That truly means so much to me. xo
Love all the pictures but that last one is incredible- so sweet. Glad the mean lady wasn’t at Dairy Queen this time

Oh my heart.
I am all fine with having one boy and one girl, though I always wanted a sister myself.
And then I come here, and your girls are so lovely, and you talk about them loving each other so much. And then I want to make more babies so A can have sisters. (Poor Dylan, but lots of sisters are good for a little dude, right?)
Sigh.
