Text convo on Saturday…
Jed: I have 2 free field access tix 4 game 2morrow
Me: What game?
Jed: Vikings – You know Minnesota Vikings – pro football
Jed: Do U no anyone I could invite 2 go w/me?
Me: U mean peeps who like fb? I dunno. Nobody I no.
Jed: Yeah. Me either. Maybe I will just pass on the tix.
Me: Ask one of our girls.
So Jed asked Eloise and she said “baseball, I don’t like baseball” and Jed said “no, it’s football” and she said “yeah I don’t think I like that either.”
So Jed asked Esther and she said “if it’s something Eloise doesn’t like then I think I don’t like it either, so no.”
So then Jed decided to just not go AND PASS ON TWO TICKETS TO BE ON THE FIELD FOR A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL GAME.
Because we still could not think of one person we knew personally who liked football and lived in our area.
So this morning I said “you should really go, it would be fun.”
And Jed said “well do you want to go?” And I said “to a football game? um no.”
So then Jed said “come on Esther – why don’t you go with me just for a little while?”
And Esther said “no, I would rather sit here and read a book.”
So I said “you know there are cheerleaders there with pom poms – you know just like you were a cheerleader for Halloween and I used to be a cheerleader – wouldn’t it be cool to see the cheerleaders!?”
And so Jed said “Yeah we should really go. Football is awesome.”
And so Esther said “OMG THERE ARE CHEERLEADERS – I am totally going to the game!!”
And then Eloise was mad because she passed on the tickets and now she found out there were CHEERLEADERS at the game.
So we went to Esther’s closet to find something in a Purple shade with a bow to match.
And so Jed texted back pictures of CHEERLEADERS. Not one football player.
And when they got home I asked what was the best part of the game and Esther said “The cheerleaders with the naked bellies!”
And I asked “So how was the game?”
And Esther said “What game?” And then asked how old I was when I started cheering because OMG CHEERLEADERS!
