There are a lot of super amazing posts out there about what to wear to BlogHer.
The first rule of thumb is to be comfortable in what you are wearing. If you are a jeans girl – wear jeans but dress it up a bit with a cute top and accessories. If you are a dress girl – wear that dress that is event appropriate. We all know that the more comfortable we are – the better we present ourselves and the more confidence we have.
The second rule of thumb is do not worry so much about it – don’t go out and buy a bunch of new items until you have shopped your closet. I am sure there are some amazing pieces in there that will be perfect.
The third rule of thumb is bring items that you can mix and match – maybe you can wear the same shoes or use the cardigan or scarf again. Bring items in the same color palettes to maximize your choices.
I am a skirt and dress girl. 99% of the time that is what I am wearing. I own two pairs of jeans and will wear them very occasionally – so of course I am packing dresses for BlogHer just because I know I will be comfortable in them. I mentioned a few of my favorite dresses yesterday.
Also I am a wedge/heel girl. I am not comfortable in flats – so my footwear will be elevated. If you are not comfortable in heels – leave them home and bring out those cute flats and dressy flip-flops!
This is currently what I have planned for BlogHer(a la iPhone pics) – or outfits very similar to these. I did not put jewelry or handbags with them yet – but assume they will be part of the outfit.
On the plane – comfy jersey knit dress from Old Navy, belt from Target and some wedges from a few seasons ago from Dansko – shhh – don’t tell anyone about my comfort wedges.
Thursday evening – Cute Little Black Dress from Old Navy, ruffled scarf from Garnet Hill, gold wedges that I bought from Nordstrom Rack last year.
Friday daytime at the Conference – Ruffled Bottom Dress from Garnet Hill(Oh how I love), sash from Matilda Jane, Born Flower shoes, and an optional cardi from Target.
Friday Night – Dressy Option: Gull Wings Dress from Anthropologie, gold wedges from the Rack, optional scarf from Garnet Hill.
Friday Night – Casual Option: Blouse from Anthropologie, Jeans from Gap, Strappy red wedges(my favorite shoes EVER) from Anthropologie.
Saturday Daytime at the Conference – Ruffled dress from Old Navy, optional ruffled cardigan from Old Navy, Born flower shoes.
Saturday Night – Super comfy jersey knit Navy Ruffled Dress from Old navy , Scarf from Banana Republic, and either some espadrilles from JCrew or the Flower shoes from Born.
Flight Home – The Dress I Love from Target, with target leggings and Born black leather wedges.
Thank you for letting me share! So the big question is – what are you wearing?

You have such great taste, Tracy!
You’re a wedge girl, just like me. I love you.
Do you have any secret outfits you’re not showing so you can surprise everyone when you’re there?

sshh..maybe. Also – have you shared your shoe stash yet? I need to drool a bit.
Hee hee, not yet, I will! Planning a ‘photo shoot’ with my girls – by that, I mean my shoes.
Alison@Mama Wants This recently posted..Heart for Art
That’s a LOT of shoes for essentially two days, no? You need to leave room in your luggage for SWAG. Or pack an empty duffel.
Anyway, love your dresses! I will be stare at them enviously while I sit in my jeans..
It’s getting closer!!!! xo

That is only like six pairs – I put nine others away.. You will look HOT in your jeans.
Wow. I”m with Cheryl. You are a fashionista.
I am not.

I do not believe that for a second. xo
Believe it baby. But I’m bringing the actual baby so maybe I can just wear her as a pouch to shield my stomach area from view?

I bet you have very cute wellies. I love wellies.
Such cute dresses! I love them all. Your outfits are putting my BlogHer outfit plans to shame.
If you want to share, I’ve got a pre-BlogHer fashion linkup on my site. http://www.halfheartedhousewife.com/2011/07/fashion-friday-blogher-11-link-up-edition/
I’ll be doing two more posts each Friday before BlogHer.
And now when I’ll see your dresses in San Diego I’ll know who to say hello to!
Thank you Claire! I just linked up!
You’ll be fabulous, like we all knew you would! XO

Awesome outfits! I love the shoes! And dresses? They’ve become my new best friend.
Also that last dress from Target? I have that. In 2 colors.

That Target dress is my Summer uniform.
You will look fabulous! I just bought some super cute wedge shoes to wear. I have been wearing them around the house trying to get them broken in and comfy before the conference.

You are going to look great! I love your shoes, and now I feel an urge to go and buy some more! My husband will thank you later.

There is always a good reason to buy new shoes.
Clicked through from the BlogHer Twitter stream and wanted to say thank you for this post! I feel okay about daytime wear, but have really been puzzling about evenings. These are great suggestions. I love dresses, too, and I am looking forward to several days of wearing things that don’t have to pass the “can I get down and play on the floor in it?” test!
Thanks again for taking the time to share what you are wearing!

Thank you! It was fun to do. I think evenings are tricky also – but you will find a little bit of everything from Jeans to formal wear out there – so just wear what you like and feel good in!
You will look great, of course. I needed you shopping yesterday, you should have seen me wandering aimlessly trying to put an outfit together.

I would love to – but 99% of what I buy is online.
Wow. That’s all I have to say! Not only are you 1,000,000,000 times more stylish than me, YOU ALREADY HAVE IT PLANNED!

Thank you for doing this!!!!!!! I LOVE seeing how people put an outfit together – especially when it is within my budget. Thank you!!
Since I am 24 weeks pregnant, I wear a LOT of Matilda Jane. It fits so well, is so comfy and stylish, and I don’t really like maternity clothing.
The Old Navy dresses are so affordable. Everything I posted here was on sale.
Dude, why do I not have you doing my shopping for me. I love all that and I am notoriously bad at shopping.

You look so amazing in jeans and I love the outfits you put together. I wish I could get used to jeans – I just feel so weird in them. Maybe you can help me with that….
You picked out some amazing outfits! I love the ruffle bottom dress with the green cardigan and yellow shoes. And anything from Anthro always has my vote.

You need that Garnet Hill dress – it is so amazing and versatile. Your post really inspired me to get this all figured out so I didn’t panic at the last minute.
I have become a fan of skirts & dresses a lot more recently… they’re easy to find in stores, look great on (meaning they cover all the fat areas), and travel well!
You’ll look amazing at BlogHer! Have fun!

Very jealous.
Of your wardrobe. AND the fact that you’ll be at BlogHer.
I’m not even going to shower that weekend now as an act of mourning.
(and also because I’m lazy.)
Okay. I might shower. But I refuse to wear anything fashionable.
That’s a protest I can easily manage…

you are going to look GREAT. I recently bought and wore the stiped blue dress from Old Navy and I loved it, so did my family, even with my BIG BOOBIES it was so pretty with a camisole underneath it for me.
I love every single outfit, I’m so jealous I won’t see them in person.

Tracy,
You need to be my personal shopper, mmmm’kay?
LOVE all these ensembles—so cute!
I am a sucker for Anthropologie when I am splurging. In fact, I bought a dress from there right before I found out I was pregnant….so haven’t been able to wear it. And am scared to death I won’t fit in it next spring/summer. THe tags are still on it.
Also love those greenish flower wedge sandals!!
You have amazing taste!

I have that target dress but in purple! It is my go to dress for anything lately during the day. Although you are going to look so super in everything, I may need to hug you from very far away! Either that or maybe I will glean some of your style through osmosis when I do hug you!

I love all of your options! I tried on that striped dress from Old Navy and it looked awful on me and I was so disappointed because I love it. Maybe I need to try it with that thick belt. So are you going to take pictures of yourself in each outfit so that we can see how great they look on?!

Oh no. I am sorry that dress did not work.
That is such a great idea – I will take a pic and do a post-BlogHer fashion review of what worked and what didn’t. Thank you! xo
Cute outfits! Call me naive, but I honestly had no idea that blogging conferences were such a fashion show. Although it does make sense with so many women converging onto one place. It definitely ups the intimidation factor… but it sure is fun to read these fashion posts!

1. I wear that Target dress with leggings and black flats for most of my flights lately. If I’m going somewhere, I show up still looking cute, but was comfortable on the plane, double win!
2. Love the dresss from Old Navy, might have to get the Ruffle Tier floral one for a business trip to Montreal next week. It would be cute for dinners out.

Plus, I just scored some really cute Aerosoles (SHHH!!) yesterday at T.J. Maxx. So exciting! I love picking clothes to wear for conferences (or for anything really…)
