My Friday Favorite Things – Skirts

Last week I posted about how much I love wearing dresses and skirts – especially in the summertime. I listed several dresses that I own and love.

This week, let’s try on some skirts, shall we?
Photobucket

This is my go-to skirt. It is the Disco skirt from Matilda Jane. Easy and soft knit, wash, dry, wear – casual or dress it up, throw it over a swimsuit.  Takes sticky baby hands and washes up like a dream.  Fun and funky paired with my Trailer Trash tee from Vintage Lucy and Cropped cardigan from Target boutique.(you need these cardis in every color by the way)

Most of the skirts I wear in the summer are a light cotton jersey knit – no fuss, no ironing, they feel great on.

Other Favorites:

The Fun Skirt from Boden. They do this skirt every season and I just cannot help myself but grab one. Very fun and versatile.

Sassy Knitwear is a local Minnesota Company. I have purchased some of their kids items and one skirt for me but am in the market for more.  I have my eye on the New Skirt. Their cuts are gorgeous and the quality amazing.  They use organic cottons and everything is simply stunning.

One of my best friends has this roll over skirt from Old Navy and I need to pick a few up for me – easy and cheap summer staple don’t you think?

My good friend bought this Rock Slide skirt from Anthropologie on Monday night. If she hadn’t bought it, I was sure going to.  Stunning, flattering, yummy and awww worthy.  Treat yourself!

This Nusa Rollover Skirt from Altheta was just recommended to me yesterday.  I love roll/fold top skirts as they are universally flattering.

What are your favorite Summer skirts?  Please share!

I want the rock slide skirt, but I don’t know what to wear with it. Any suggestions?

Hey Tif – Yes, you have to be very simple on top because of the ruffled hem – just a basic ribbed tank or fitted tee would be darling.

Hello! Happy Friday new friend! I love skirts too, but in the summer, it’s gotta be comfortable shorts with lots of pockets ’cause moms have to have lots of pockets and big purses. The less ironing and fuss, the better!

I hope your good friend isn’t a TK because that would be quite awkward. I bought that skirt for conference. I was eyeing it forever and finally convinced myself I could justify it.

I live in Target’s roll top knit skirts-so comfy and easy to deal with. My favorite skirt this summer is the Dashing Skirt from Cabi-so well cut and constructed-it has become my ‘uniform’ for any special occasion.

Wow, that Rock Slide skirt is beautiful, and the price isn’t bad either, considering it’s Anthropologie.

My favorite summer skirts include the Boden Fun Skirt, also, and I also tried the Boden Printed Swishy Skirt this summer in the purple batik—-love it! Another favorite is just a simple cotton skirt from Lilly Pulitzer in a fun summer print. I have one with crocodiles in the print and one with swimming pools on it—love those; they truly feel like SUMMER :)

Anthro skirts are mean to me. They are all so dang short.

The best skirt I bought this summer the the striped pencil skirt from Boden. My hubby follows me around all day with his tongue hanging out when I wear it. And it’s on sale!

I despise skirts and dresses… seriously – never wear them. I’m a shorts/capris/jeans girl every day of the week. Your post is making me think I need to try a skirt though. Some of those roll-over swishy ones look nice. Hmmm… Do I brave a skirt? I don’t think I’ve worn one in years!

Ditto what Ann said! I think I own 2 dresses and maybe 1 skirt. I’m a capris girl (ha ha!) but it’s too darn hot so I’m in shorts today.

They are very helpful and fun to read. The picture of you is aDORable. What a cute skirt. Now, I think I need one of those cardis in Every color.

I find it difficult to wear a skirt while chasing around a 49 pound 3 year old so I opt for skorts, which I live in right now. They also don’t come down to my knees, which most skirts seem to and I just hate!

I love wearing skirts or casual dresses in the summer. I have tons of Fresh Produce stuff. It is reasonably priced and easy to care for. This summer I got two yoga-top knit skirts from Lands End and love them. But I see some in this post I need to check out TODAY!

The quote you left on my blog is so perfect for a gal who loves to wear her skirts:)

The second skirt is GOREGOUS and I agree with needing a cute cardigan in every color possible. I will be starting that goal this fall ;-) As far as my favorite skirt, I have a great ivory and black circle skirt. It has a graphic black floral print on a ivory background. It just makes me fell beautiful and girly.

I am visiting from the Lady Blogger’s Tea Party. Thanks for having me!

I’m stopping by from LBS Tea Party. I have a couple comfy skirts, and I really love their versatility. And I’m happy to see the Athleta one because I have 2 skirts that are that same style, but I haven’t seen any in the stores like that for a couple summers now.
